The Tales of the Jedi series gets its first trailer. A new series of Star Wars comics are coming this fall from Dark Horse Comics. The Tales of the Jedi: Anthology Series will span three decades, creating an epic story arc that will unite all canon within the universe and introduce new characters that one day may cross over into live-action. IGN spoke to editor Randy Stradley about the project. “One goal we had was to create a series of stories set in a single time frame so readers don’t have to worry about crossover and continuity issues,” says Stradley. “It’s also easier to do larger cliffhangers where readers don’t know what’s going on.

The stories are each self-contained, but they tie into the ongoing canon we have. I think the story arc will be really fun for readers. We’ve packed a lot of things into our first arc: we’re introducing a new character, who is a Jedi Master; revealing that one of our characters is Palpatine; and tying into the main Star Wars story — as well as doing something that, I think, other stories haven’t done before.”

Do you know about the release date of the Tales of the Jedi series:

This series will be released on 26 October 2022. Also, the series has 02 volumes. Let’s read the first volume of Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi: Dark Lords of the Sith. As we know, the Tales of the Jedi (sometimes abbreviated to TOTJ) is an Expanded Universe comic book series. It was originally published by Dark Horse Comics and was written by Tom Veitch and Kevin J. Anderson, with art by many artists including Darryl Banks, Tom Hodges, and Christian Gossett. It consists of several short stories (usually 5 or 6 issues each) that are interconnected into larger story arcs.

What inspired the director to write the Tales of the Jedi series?

The series is inspired by the material from The Dark Forces Saga. In addition to us already knowing who some of the characters were (and even a few characters who died in that book), we also did a lot of reading on many other characters as well. We also picked up lines and phrases when we watched episodes of TV series or played video games or attended conventions.

Who are the director’s favorite characters and why?

The favorite characters of each of us are different. For me, I liked Zayne Carrick from the Knights of the Old Republic comic series. He was a fun character to write, about and one that many people identified with as well. The story of Zayne is not over yet, and I hope we get to tell more of it. For John Jackson Miller, his favorite character is Cade Skywalker/Lucky/Skyguy. He’s just a great character for many reasons: he’s an antihero who does things that people wish they could do, he’s a lot like Han Solo (who a lot of people identify with), and he’s the son of a well-known father who has let his name define who he is.

What themes do the Tales of the Jedi series explore?

The themes of the series are things like redemption, family, friendships, duty, and courage. The main character is Zayne Carrick, and he’s a very young Jedi who tries to get involved with saving the galaxy.

What are your hopes from Tales of the Jedi?

Hopes from me as a writer would be to see this book reach everybody who reads it and makes them want to know what happens next. I think that’s what all books do — they get people talking. And I think we’re getting some people talking right now. And that’s pretty cool as storytellers. Just to see how fun it can be writing a comic book, and knowing that there’s so much more to tell after people are done reading our first four issues.
