It was the party to end all parties. The guests had been invited by Apple, the most innovative and trendsetting tech company in the world. The theme of the party was “Murder Mystery.” Guests were asked to come dressed as their favorite detectives, private investigators, or crime scene investigators.

The night was filled with intrigue, mystery, and suspense. But then, something went wrong. The partygoers were all butchered, one by one. Only the man at the center of the massacre was left alive. He escaped in a state of shock, and the police had no leads.

What inspired you to write The Afterparty Series?

The Afterparty series inspired me because I wanted to create a new crime-mystery genre. When I was writing it, I wanted to have a few elements that would make it unique from other series.

What unique challenges did you encounter in your writing process?

The biggest challenge I encountered was getting the plot and story for the series developed. Other than that, there’s no real challenge in creating this series. The ideas just flow easily through my mind and onto paper, which motivates me to always write more novels and become a better writer.

What was your process for writing the books?

I would start writing by getting ideas from my thoughts. Then I would begin to brainstorm for possible titles and the character names for the book, then I come up with an outline of different scenarios that I feel could work well with this book.

After taking a short break from that, I would come back to the outline and write little bits of dialogue as well as action into it, so it feels more coordinated when it goes down onto paper.

What lessons did you learn while writing The Afterparty Series?

The lesson I learned while writing this series is that it’s better to always come up with something unique, rather than being too predictable with your plotline and story.

The message that I hope my readers will take away from this book is to always be open-minded and always think outside the box. This series has been the most rewarding for me because it showed me that I could become a writer and achieve what I’ve dreamt of achieving. It also helped me to gain more confidence in myself and motivated me to keep doing what I love doing.

Are there any plans for a movie or TV adaptation of The Afterparty Series?

There are no plans for a movie or TV adaptation at the moment. But I’m hoping that one day my dreams will come true, and there will be a movie or TV series based on this series, for all to enjoy. I’d love to see it on the big screen or small screen as well.

If you could have dinner with any fictional character from The Afterparty Series?

I would have dinner with Detective Danner because he’s my favorite character from the entire series and I feel like he has a lot of interesting things to say and tell me about his life back when he was a detective.

I’d bring Aniq into real life because he has a lot of great information that he needs to share with me, as well as the world. I also want to know more about his backstory and how he came to be the way that he is.

Is there any advice you would give to new writers?

The advice I would give to new writers is always staying positive and don’t give up on your dreams. Keep writing every day and doing your best, because the outcome might surprise you when it comes down to it in the end.
