The plot of the series revolves around the effects of criminal activity on criminals and others. The plot is based on the struggles of an international criminal organization known as Mobster, which was founded and led by Thomas “Tommy” KirbKirbye story begins after a series of events that lead to the Canadian customs officers arresting Tommy for illegally importing hashish into Canada. After his arrest, his sister Tessa Kirby allies with her brother to take over their father’s company. When they are denied, they use underhanded tactics to manipulate a corrupt Chinese businessman into giving them access to his money but it all goes wrong when he gets fatally injured in a motor vehicle accident in Canada.

What inspired the director to write the Man from Toronto series?
The series is inspired by several different real-life events. One such event was when the director’s sister was visiting her boyfriend for the holidays and she was injured in a motor vehicle accident. She had to get emergency surgery and he also got a spinal injury which inspired him to write this series. The story is taken from real-life people; there are no fictional characters portrayed in the series. The actual man’s name is Thomas “Tommy” Kirby and he was an actual mobster, with close ties to the Italian-American Mafia before being shot dead by Canadian police after being arrested for trafficking illegal drugs into Canada.

The film title was inspired by a city called Toronto, Canada. The word “Toronto” was named for a former business partner of Thomas Kirby’s. The businessmen were on friendly terms until their company merged with another company, which created a rift between them. The one who got the last laugh from that whole situation was John Eschkorn (a businessman who used to work with Kirby) and he had named his company “Toronto”.
