Tyler and his girlfriend Margot take a boat to Julian Slowik’s upscale restaurant, Hawthorne, which is situated on an isolated island. An anonymous post-prime movie star and his assistant Felicity, cuisine critic Lilian Bloom and her editor Ted, the well-to-do Richard and Anne Leibbrandt, and business associates Soren, Dave, and Bryce are also in attendance.
Elsa, the restaurant’s skipper, gives the group a tour of the island and explains that Margot wasn’t Tyler’s initial evening guest. The group had differing opinions about the first few molecular gastronomy dishes at supper. Tyler, a Slowik fan and foodie, is thrilled with the experience, but Margot is put off by the establishment’s strict dress code. The couple is then sequestered from the others in a guesthouse as a precaution against overexposure to the nightlife of Julian’s island, which was once decimated by a virus that killed everyone native to the area.

In the last part of this series when everyone tried to enter that island because of a deadly virus we see that Julian Slowik wanted to keep them all at their places so they can enjoy themselves with each other without any fear.

The favorite character of the director is Tyler. They said that they have great chemistry with the actor. The director said that, “I think Tyler has a similar temperament to him. They are both kind of, uh you know very detailed about what they want and how they want things done.”
