Fans of The Umbrella Academy rejoice! The show’s star, Elliot Page, has just released a new photo of his character on Instagram. The photo shows Page in full costume as the villainous Cha-Cha. In the caption, Page writes “The first day on set and I’m playing Cha-Cha. This is going to be fun.” The Umbrella Academy is a new Netflix series based on the popular comic book series of the same name. It tells the story of a family of superheroes who are forced to reunite after their father dies. The series will be presented as a 10-episodes limited series. It premieres later this month on Netflix.
This series will be released on 22 June 2022. Also, the series has been rated TV-MA for suggestive material. The trailer of this series has been released. As we all know, there will be a Comic-Con event at San Diego Comic-Con, and it is expected that a new trailer of The Umbrella Academy will be released.
Elliot Page played the character in the photo as Cha-Cha. What is interesting to note here is that Cha-Cha wasn’t even mentioned in the comic book, but rather only mentioned in a short scene from the pilot of the TV series. So this means that we could possibly get to see something from the comics in this series. I think Page’s character name is also Elliot.
Vincent (Joey King) and his adopted siblings are together again, though they each have their own reasons for fleeing San Francisco. They soon reunite to join forces with a familiar face, and it is clear that father figure Sir Reginald Hargreeves (Tom Hopper) has not told them everything about themselves or the world in which they live.
At least not yet. The Umbrella Academy sets out to do what their mother would have wanted: protect the world from extinction by any means necessary – even if it means destroying themselves to do so.
The different abilities of each member of the Umbrella Academy are: Vanya can go back in time, Diego has a seemingly limitless supply of knives, Luther can move objects through telekinesis, Allison is a mind reader (and loves to use it to her advantage), Cha-Cha has some sort of power that makes him stronger and more nimble as more people die around him and Ben takes on the appearance of whoever looks at him.
The production team had stated that they tried to find a European location but later ended up filming in Toronto and Hamilton. They have also said that the tone of The Umbrella Academy will be slightly different than other comic book adaptations.
In the flashbacks of the panel, we see Vanya using her time travel in a variety of ways. We see her go back to try to convince a younger version of herself to not sacrifice herself and we also see her save other people who are in danger. It seems that this power was initially quite frightening for Vanya. Her mother warns her not to use it and she is reluctant to use it even when she is trying to save those in danger.
In the flashbacks, we see that Sir Reginald Hargreeves and the Monocle were once close friends. Monocle was injured in an explosion as a result of his daughter’s powers, and he kept her locked up in an underground prison after this.
Luther is initially quite upset about being adopted and leaves home at 16 to take care of himself. He ends up becoming a hitman for the mafia initially, but then we see that his powers are noticed by the uber-powerful organization: The Umbrella Academy.
Allison is a mind reader, and she seems to have a lot of fun using this power. For example, she uses this power to know what people’s favorite drinks are and makes them order it for her. She also uses this power to get out of jail in one of the trailers. However, we also see that Luther’s powers are quite useful for Allison. When she sees that he has been captured, she uses her mind-reading ability to try to free him from whatever cell he is in.
Throughout the series, Diego’s father is barely mentioned. There is a scene in the comics where the entire Hargreeves family attends a party thrown by Diego’s father (who apparently wants to be friends with Reginald). In one of Cha-Cha’s flashbacks, there is also a scene where Diego’s mother and Cha-Cha are having an argument because she refuses to let him see his father.
