The White Lotus, a show that has been in limbo for the past year, has finally been given the green light for production. The series will resume filming in the fall and Jennifer Coolidge has been confirmed to lead the cast. The White Lotus tells the story of a yoga retreat that is taken over by a group of criminals. Â HBO’s Jeff Golenberg responded to the news on his Twitter: “Production has begun in Montreal on The White Lotus, starring Jennifer Coolidge and directed by Joe Barton. Series will air on HBO.”
HBO’s Mark Tuggle confirmed the news but no other details have been revealed. Production was based out of Toronto and Montreal last year and the series was initially eyed for a late 2014 debut. Creator Adam Nussdorf had also been drafting a “The White Lotus” comic book series but it is unclear if any of that material will be included in the series.
