Yellowjackets Season 2: Gets Even More Graphic, Sophie Nélisse

The second season of Showtime’s “Yellowjackets” is already in production, and series regular Sophie Nélisse warns that it will become even more brutal and frightening. She is aware that’s a difficult task given that the series began with a horrifying cannibal scene. Yellowjackets presented a viewing of its Season 1 finale at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood on December 1, followed by a Q&A session moderated by Variety’s Senior Awards Editor Clayton Davis, in preparation for the show’s forthcoming return, anticipated to premiere in early 2023.  The high school ladies’ soccer team in the series is abandoned in the wilderness after their plane crashes on the route to nationals, and it is inspired by William Golding’s “Lord of the Flies.” The team members’ youthful scenes are spliced with present-day videos of the adults who managed to escape.
