There will be some comedic moments in this film as well. From what has been shown so far, it seems like Freddy’s character will provide some comedic relief. This movie is going to be very CGI-heavy, and it seems like there are moments when all the actors have green dots on their faces for motion capturing.
This may lead to a more visually stunning film that can get away with less dialogue because of how intense certain scenes might be with its visuals alone. RELEASE DATE :
Disney has officially set a release date for April 28th, 2022 as well as an early look at the animation style which includes stylized figure drawings and watercolor backgrounds. Filming will begin in September 2021 and be shot at Pinewood Toronto Studios and various locations around Toronto.
PLOT OF THE MOVIE:
Billy Batson is granted the ability to become an adult superhero known as Shazam. He must learn how to use his new power to stop Black Adam and other villains from destroying humanity. Billy Batson is a 14-year-old kid from New York who gets chosen to be the new champion of Shazam, an ancient Egyptian deity with powers based on Greek mythology. He must learn how to use his new power to stop Black Adam and other villains from destroying humanity.
In the latest trailer for Shazam!, there are a few things that we can glean about this movie from what it has shown us so far. First and foremost, Shazam! is very distinctly a superhero movie. There are explosions all over the trailer with wall-to-wall CGI effects that we expect from most blockbusters these days.
Certain scenes might be with its visuals alone, but the rest will surely have some fun banter between Black Adam and Shazam that’ll make us smile for a second while remembering what it was like when Batman would talk smack to Superman. There is a lot of speculation about whether Black Adam will be in the movie for a long period or if he’ll just be there at the end. We hope it’s not the latter.
THE STARRING CAST:
- Zachary Levi, who will voice Billy Batson/Shazam, has been cast. Other cast decisions have yet to be announced but we expect it will include the voice of Black Adam, played by Dwayne Johnson
- Black Adam’s plot could be like Loki in Thor. They make it seem like he is the protagonist, but in the end, he doesn’t do anything and Thor saves everyone.
- They could have him be the main antagonist of this movie as well. In that case, I would not like Black Adam being portrayed by someone other than Djimon Hounsou.

From what we see in the trailer, he will be a powerful god-like figure that’s actually kind of funny and self-deprecating.
EXPECTATIONS:
We are so excited to see what Djimon Hounsou can do with this role, and we cannot wait to get more details out of him about the movie. The only thing we want to see is that the movie does not take away from Black Adam’s character. They have done this with other characters in movies and it has never worked out.
We are really excited about what they will do with Black Adam, but there are a lot of factors at play here that we should be wary about. The producers may wait to see if the movie does well before they move forward with a standalone Black Adam movie. It is possible that he will not have as much time in this movie compared to other characters because of how many people are introduced and a lot is going on.
