The Black Panther series is one of the most highly anticipated movies to hit theaters next month and with a cast that includes such stars as Chadwick Boseman (as Prince T’Challa aka the Black Panther) and Michael B. Jordan (as Erik Killmonger), it no wonder. One of the many stand-out characters in this film is Namor, played by American actor and singer, Isaiah Mustafa. Namor is a regular Atlantean who has an armory of weapons at his disposal that are all controlled by voice commands.

The Atlantean monarch also has a few humorous quips for the Black Panther and his allies. The first time Namor is shown in the movie, he utters his name in full which is quite a mouthful. But if you’re wondering how one would pronounce his name in English and you’re not an English native speaker, there are two ways to say Namor.

Do you know the release date of the Black Panther series:

This series will be released on 11 November 2022. Also, the series has a total of 147 episodes. The first pronunciation of Namor’s name is a truncated version in which ‘Namor’ is said as ‘Nam–or’. This pronunciation can be heard in the video below at 0:50 into the video, however, this pronunciation would not be considered correct according to BBC.com’s Pronunciation Unit guidelines. In the BBC Pronunciation Guidelines, the word ‘Nam–or’ is said to sound like “nuh-MAWR” which means that it loses its syllable and sounds like “nuh-Mawr.
