We first heard reports that Mary Elizabeth Winstead will be playing the Twi’lek general and captain of the famed Ghost in the new Ahsoka series back in September, and now other websites are stating that they have also heard that she will be doing so. Rosario Dawson plays the main role of former Jedi trainee Ahsoka Tano in the series, which was recently confirmed to feature Winstead in it. Winstead’s position was being kept under wraps at the time, but given that she’s around the proper age to play Hera Sydnulla at this point in the timeline—roughly ten years after the conclusion of Star Wars: Rebels—some fans wondered if she would play the beloved character in a live-action setting. Winstead’s involvement in the series, which stars Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano, a former Jedi trainee, was made public earlier this year. Details of Winstead’s role were being kept under wraps at the time, but given that she’s roughly the right age to play Hera Sydnulla at this point in the timeline—roughly ten years after the conclusion of Star Wars: Rebels—some fans wondered if she would play the beloved character in a live-action setting.

About Ashoka series

Even though Ahsoka’s release date is still ambiguous, fans of the character have little to complain about. Ahsoka was extensively featured in the animated series Tales of the Jedi, which debuted on Disney+ in October and examined the origins of the character alongside Dooku, Qui-Gon Jinn, Mace Windu, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and many other characters. The character’s effect on Disney+ Star Wars-themed programming was further increased with Rosario Dawson playing the role in “The Book of Boba Fett” and Season 2 of “The Mandalorian.”

Star Wars: Rebels has Ivanna Sakhno, a recently created character, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, a mystery character, and Sabine Wren, a Mandalorian fighter portrayed by Natasha Liu Bordizzo. As Anakin Skywalker, Hayden Christensen will make his second appearance in a Disney+ series alongside Ahsoka. Ray Stevenson has also reportedly agreed to play an unidentified opponent who is not Thrawn. Even though we presently know little about Ahsoka, it is said that the series will follow the former Jedi as she looks for Grand Admiral Thrawn throughout the galaxy.

What is Star Wars?

The Star Wars franchise is a science fiction franchise created by American film director, producer, and writer George Lucas. The franchise began in 1977 with the release of Star Wars, followed by the sequel The Empire Strikes Back in 1980 and then by Return of the Jedi in 1983. These three films constitute the original Star Wars trilogy. A prequel trilogy was later released beginning with Episode I: The Phantom Menace in 1999, followed by Attack of the Clones in 2002 and Revenge of the Sith in 2005. Another sequel trilogy began with the release of Solo: A Star Wars Story in 2018.

The Star Wars films have spawned an extensive media franchise, including books, television series, computer and video games, and comic books. These supplements to the film trilogies comprise the Star Wars Expanded Universe and have resulted in significant development of the series’ fictional universe. Theatrical animated Star Wars films were previously released as a compilation of three films known as the Star Wars original trilogy (1977–1983). However, there were originally plans for a second anthology trilogy set in between the prequel and original trilogies. The first two films would combine which would be followed by a final film that would end with the fourth film.
