What inspired you to write My Brilliant Series?
This series is inspired by me since I have gone through huge changes emotionally and mentally. It is about showing what it is like to be in my situation. It also has elements of fantasy, humour, action and sci-fi which I love.Â
The main character is my alter ego, and his name is Robert Stark. He is a person who sees the world in a completely different way but worries that no one else sees the things he sees. My career experiences gave me all the inspiration I needed to write this series, so it was an easy task trust me.
What do you think of the fan response? Did you expect it to blow up like this?
I actually did not expect this response at all because I have been writing for about 15 years and have had some success with one novel and 3 anthologies. So I was used to being ignored and suffering from poor sales.

So the fact that people are actively engaging with my work is a big shock. But I will say that I never really cared if I got any response because it was always about telling my story, not caring if anyone liked it or not. It’s like even my wife says “Your new stories are kind of weird, but they make sense.” And that is all I want. If people can look at my stories and see what I am trying to show them without thinking its total crap then it may mean something.
Who is your favourite character in the series and why?
This is a very tough question because I like them all for different reasons. But if I had to pick I guess Patience would be my favourite. She is a very optimistic person with a huge heart and her journey has been an emotional one for sure.
This character came to me as just a name and 2 words, but as the story developed she came out of the shadows and really took on life in its own way. A lot of people are initially turned off by her character, but secretly they grow to love her over time. In the last book, she really comes into her own and shows quite a bit of growth that was unexpected, but awesome at the same time.
What do you hope readers will take away from your books once they finish reading them?
That they had fun reading it, and that they enjoyed the story enough to read my next series. That’s what I want out of my readers. But there is also more than that. I wanted to write stories that others could enjoy and leave with a sense of empowerment and hope in their lives.
We all have stories, but it can be hard getting them out of our heads into the world of books and onto paper. There are people all around us who are facing real struggles with life, and we need to realize that they have lived through experiences that we don’t even comprehend. And now it’s time for us to show them how we can help ourselves, how we can make a difference in this world so that one day their struggles will not be theirs alone.Â
