Science fiction has always been a fascinating genre, exploring the future of humanity and its many possible paths. Tales from the Loop takes this idea a step further, exploring the beauty of storytelling itself. This anthology shines a light on the power of narrative, showing how it can inspire us to see the world in new ways. If you’re looking for an engaging and thought-provoking read, then Tales from the Loop is definitely for you!

The anthology features three short stories that cover a range of themes and genres. The writers in this anthology are all fantastic, and the stories are unique enough that you’ll certainly want to check out each of them! Here’s a quick rundown of what you can expect to see in this book.

Finally, there’s the story I have chosen as my favorite. It’s by J. Robert King, and it is called “When We Were Numbers”. This is an intriguing piece that takes place after an unexpected event has happened: your species has been wiped out.

Do you know about the release date of Tales from the Loop:

This series will be released in early 2022. Also the series has been acquired by Netflix, with a 10 episode season!

“Six kids discover their small town’s dark secret and must fight to survive.” It is based on the original Tales from the Loop, a series of artworks inspired by Stephen King and the X Files. The story takes place in Minnesota. Maggie Swym (Francesca Eastwood) has taken her friends to explore an abandoned power plant during their summer vacation. While Maggie is looking through an old laboratory, she notices strange drawings on a wall chart.

What inspired the Tales from the Loop series of books and art installations?

This series is inspired by the books and art installations. As you may have noticed it is set from 1984-1991, so I did a lot of photo research from that era.

I’m fascinated by the 80’s, especially the futuristic “Vision of the Future” seen in films like Back to The Future and ET. I’ve also looked at a lot of John Carpenter’s film work for visual references as well. We’re still in early development with this series, but we are talking to multiple partners about it! It’s an exciting process, so stay tuned.

What is the significance of the loop in relation to the story and characters therein?

The Loop is a place where kids can be kids, it’s a meeting place for them to gather and hang out. The kids are trying to figure out what the loop is, some think it is caused by an extra-terrestrial force, some think it might be ghosts or UFOs.

It all begins with a small local newspaper article about appearances of ghost-like creatures in the forest, which the story in “The Beauty of Sci-Fi” follows.

How do you feel about the way that technology has shaped our lives and relationships?

I think technology has been made to be so efficient that we forget about the true experience, about our humanity and the connectivity of the human race. At times like these we need a mysterious element in our lives to remind us.

I don’t think we’re too far off from a time when technology can deal with every aspect of our lives and leave us feeling empty, like there’s nothing left to do or something to go outside for.

Are there any particular themes or messages that you hope readers will take away?

I hope they take away a sense of wonder. I hope that they are inspired to go out and experience the world around them, to be curious and to explore. This is something we need right now.

We want to focus on developing this series, and I want to explore the world of storytelling further. For now, we’re already working on a prequel and exploring further adventures in this universe as well. We also want to explore other themes in the future.
