Future of “Spider-verse”

Lord and Miller’s announcement in December 2021 that the Into the Spider-Verse sequel will be split into two movies indicated the existence of a third movie. At that time, 2023 was the anticipated release date for “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse”. It was given the new title “Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse” in April 2022, with a March 29, 2024, release date.

Who is Miles Morales?

After Peter Parker’s passing in Ultimate Fallout #4 (August 2011), Miles Morales made his debut appearance. He is the second Spider-Man to debut in Ultimate Marvel, an imprint with a different continuity from the regular Marvel Universe called the Ultimate Universe. He is a 13-year-old Black boy born to a Black father and a Black mother (Earth-1610). After Marvel discontinued the Ultimate imprint in 2015, Miles was added to the main Marvel Universe (Earth-616), starting with stories published under the All-New, All-Different Marvel banner, which made its debut in the same year.  Miles was featured in the Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man comic book series. The character was eventually added to the main cast as Kid Arachnid in the animated television series Ultimate Spider-Man even though he wasn’t the main protagonist.

Miles Morales has abilities similar to those of the original Spider-Man after being bitten by a genetically modified spider known as specimen 42, slightly different from the one that gave Peter Parker superhuman abilities. These include enhanced strength, agility, and reflexes, the capacity to attach his hands and feet to walls and ceilings, and a “spider-sense.” He possesses two powers that the original Spider-Man did not have: the ability to blend in with his environment, even his attire, rendering him practically invisible; and a “venom strike” that can instantly paralyze almost anyone with a touch.
