The Fabelmans series is a post-apocalyptic and sci-fi television show. The series is an adaptation of a novel written by German author Otfried Preussler the same name. Set in an alternative future, the show primarily follows two brothers who live in West Germany just before World War III sets itself off. They are forced to leave their home when all of the adults are killed after radiation from a solar storm wipes out all life on earth except for one percent of the population who were unaffected by it. This exposure has made humanity unable to reproduce without mutations and makes them the superior species over those who have not been affected by radiation.
The show follows the brothers as they make their way to the only safe place left on earth and need to journey through a nuclear wasteland to get there. The show also follows a man named Brother John as he searches for his kidnapped young brother, a girl from the same town who was once in love with him, and the monkey that had a big role at the beginning of the nuclear crisis. The show takes place in a post-apocalyptic environment.

The plot of the Fabelmans series is about a boy named Schmidt who is 12 years old. He lives in a remote place with his brother and parents. Somehow the family came to learn that they must leave their home on the very next day and head towards Switzerland where they will meet people who can help them. To make their journey safe, the family needs to obtain passports, papers also mean of transport like a horse or a vehicle. They made every effort to obtain everything by any means possible so that their travel becomes safe and secure.

What inspired the director to write the Fabelmans series?
The series is inspired by the book, The Fabelmans. It is an interesting idea to see that an author will be able to make a series from his story. The writer was inspired by what happened in the future this time. He has found a lot of stories about changes in climate and weather conditions happening due to human error & human error he thought it could be possible that we could go back to living like other animals for example alligators or dinosaurs.
Who are the director’s favorite characters and why?
The favorite character of the directors is Schmidt. He is an intelligent and courageous boy who plays a kind of hero in the series. The reason he is his favorite character is because of him being smart, brave, and also very selfless. Also, he wants to do something and help others that’s why he plays a kind of hero in this series
How did you come up with the idea for the Fabelmans Series?
The idea came to me when I was very much interested in what happens in the future when our planet faces huge changes. Since I started writing ‘Fabelmans’ I have written about 20 short stories set in different countries around the world which are connected in some way.
What themes does the Fabelmans series explore?
The themes explored in the series are many. One of the main things explored is war, survival, and love. Also, there is a theme of environmentalism in it.
Why should audiences watch Fabelmans?
The audience should watch Fabelmans because they will be able to see a journey of humans going back to their primitive origins. The audience will see Schmidt and his brother’s journey to reach their safe house where the remaining human population resides.
