The Matrix Resurrections, The Sequel to The Matrix Resolution, is coming out May 6th. The film has been shrouded in mystery and speculation since it was announced last year. The sequel will feature the return of Agent Smith (Hugo Weaving), who died at the end of The Matrix Revolutions. The Oracle is an important figure in The Matrix series, she can see into The future and appears as a prophet or wise woman. She foretold of The One’s coming who would find Zion and end The Machine War. The sequels explore her role in this epic battle between man and machines.
Why is Laurence Fishburne not a part of The Matrix Resurrections?
Unfortunately, Laurence Fishburne will not be reprising his role as Morpheus in The Matrix Resurrections. The reason for his departure is unknown, but it’s possible that he was not available or filming clashed with his other commitments. Laurence Fishburne won’t reprise his role as Morpheus because he believes that it is time for him to move on and do other things. His character was killed off at the end of The Matrix Revolution. The producers of The Matrix Resurrections decided to not bring him back for the sequel.

How did Agent Smith come back?
The answer is The One. The machines were able to bring Agent Smith back because he was The One. The Oracle is actually the Architect’s daughter, which is why she calls him father. This film will answer all the questions that fans have been asking for years! Make sure to check it out when it comes out on May the sixth! The answer to this question is still unknown, but it has been hinted that the machines have found a way to bring him back. The trailer features a scene in which Oracle (Mary Alice) says “He’s here because he wants to be. He’s always been here.” This could mean that Agent Smith is still The One, but has somehow managed to separate himself from Neo. Agent Smith made his first appearance in The Matrix Reloaded where he, along with other agents, fights The One and Neo. He appears multiple times throughout the sequels as well.
What can you expect from The Matrix Resurrections?
The trailer features a lot of action, as well as some clues about the plot. The Oracle tells Neo that he needs to find his “path”, and it’s clear from the footage that there will be plenty of fighting involved. The film will answer questions that The Matrix sequels left unanswered. The title The Matrix Resurrections may sound like it is about Neo, but there are other characters who have returned as well. The one character fans never expected to see again was Agent Smith! He came back in the final chapter of The Matrix Trilogy titled The Matrix Revolutions and killed The One. In The Matrix Resurrections, Smith still calls Oracle “mother” even though she is not his mother. The reason for this will be revealed in the new film.
