Based on the previous seasons’ success and viewership numbers, Virgin River season five holds much promise to be another successful venture in American TV series production.

So far, Virgin River has been nominated for a number of awards and it has won several of them. The show did not win any Golden Globe or Emmy Awards so far, but there is still time to do so in the future.

Virgin River Season 5 plot:
The plot of the fifth season will be about the arrival of a new doctor to Virgin River, who comes with his own share of romantic complications. The storyline of the plot follows a small town in California’s coastal mountains. The main protagonist is Dr. Mike (played by Treat Williams) who came to Virgin River upon his brother Luke’s request after he was murdered while serving as an Army medic in Afghanistan.
He comes to Virgin River looking for peace and quiet but gets more than he bargained for when Anne Marie moves in next door. Paul Johansson as Dan Brady, Mel’s husband who is trying hard to hold the family together after his wife becomes seriously ill and loses her memory of him. Previously, the series was known as “The Boys Are Back”, then it changed its name to “One Tree Hill”. The plot is about a group of friends who have been dreaming and planning their lives together since being teenagers in Tree Hill High School.
The cast of Virgin River Season Five :
- Jason Winston George as Jack Sheridan, the chief of police in Virgin River. He is a Vietnam War veteran who was wounded during combat by an explosion that killed his best friend and got him addicted to painkillers. Since then he has suffered PTSD which led him to have mood swings, blackouts and violent outbursts.
- Diane Ladd as Doc Jane Benson, a doctor and the only medical professional in Virgin River who is struggling to keep her family together after losing her husband at sea during rescue mission that brought them all closer.
- Molly Parker as Mel Sheridan, Jack’s sister who was an attorney but gave up everything to care for her son after his father’s death.
- Penelope Ann Miller as Anne Marie Bosch, a nurse who is devoted to helping people and does it by getting the best out of everyone even if she has to push them beyond limits. She is also Jack’s ex wife that he never stopped loving but was too stubborn to admit it.
Reviews:
The plot of the series is well-paced and has enough twists that will keep viewers intrigued until the end. The plot is very well written and the cast is amazing. The production was great as expected since it has been always good with Hallmark Channel productions so far.
