The Oompa-Loompas were a part of one of young Willy Wonka’s earliest excursions, which is where the story mostly centers on him. The Oompa-Loompas are a tribe of people whose sole purpose is to make candy. The tribe is based on the Oompa-Loompas residing in Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory after it was closed. The Oompa Loompas are the “orchestra” at the end of Wonka, Jr.’s song. They all sing a chorus of “Pure Imagination” as the film ends. Wonka also describes Charlie Bucket as an average child with no magical characteristics who loves chocolate and sweets over anything else and has a very sweet tooth.
