The Gilded Age is a new show on Netflix that has been receiving mixed reviews. Some people say that it is shallow and uninteresting, while others say that it is a fun and entertaining spectacle. I am in the latter group. While the show may not be groundbreaking or thought-provoking, it is definitely enjoyable to watch. I would like to go into some specifics as to why I enjoy this show, so let’s talk about that.

First up is the cast. There are many great actors who appear on this show: Naomi Watts, Matthew Broderick, Sissy Spacek, Kathy Bates, F. Murray Abraham and more. The acting is very good and the ensemble is quite strong. I love when a new television show has a large ensemble of characters and you can tell that everyone cares about how the character interacts with their fellow castmates (look at The Office for this wonderful idea).

Do you know about the release date of The Gilded Age:

This series will be released on 24 January 2022. Also, the series has a 7.5 IMDb rating. The Story of this new TV Show is about the latter part of the Gilded Age in the USA while telling us a story of the corrupt and violent world of that time.

Another appealing aspect of this show is the costuming and set design. The art direction here is quite good, which makes sense because I believe that people who have been hired to do other art directing jobs on other TV shows are working on this show. I particularly like how detailed everything is and how period-accurate it is, even though most period pieces set in America tend to be inaccurate either in costuming or set design (or both).

What was The Gilded Age and what caused it to happen?

The Gilded Age was the period after the Civil War to about the beginning of World War I when the U.S. had a lot of economic growth and industrialization and people were living in great wealth.

After the Civil War, there was a big increase in immigration so more people made up the American population and they needed work to do, so Americans started working in factories and became rich. The government was stable so people wanted to invest their money in America and new inventions were made that increased productivity of factories. And then when we got to oil it caused another huge economic boom for us at that time.

How did people during The Gilded Age live compared to nowadays standards of living?

They lived a very luxurious and opulent lifestyle. There were enormous amounts of wealth, especially in New York at that time. They were able to own millions of acres of land and lots of industries.

They had so much wealth and power that they could live in big houses, ride in limousines, have servants to look after them, etc. The economy was centred around manufacturing at this time as well, so lots and lots of people would get jobs to make stuff like gas lines or railroads so they could make more money. A lot of this came from the new inventions made by some brilliant innovators and inventors at the time who changed our lives forever with things like the telephone or the radio.
